A2- Ch. 18
Based on what we've read so far, predict what will happen in the end of The Giver. *If you know what happens write what you would want to happen instead of what does.

easton o. I am ok with what happened. I mean if he wants to run away then thats ok with me. But, the release is kind of sad and gross. Im glad that he took Gabe with him though.
I think that Jonas might share some memories or secrets with others I also think that once Jonas is fully trained the Giver will leave or die. If I were Jonas I would share some memories with other people. (Only a few people though)
Aurora i would rather have had jonas confront all the people and tell them exactly what there missing. The i would have him get as many memories as possible secretly and then run away with Gabe. Then he could have at least taken fiona (i dont know her name, its the redheaded girl he likes) with him. That would have been a much better ending.
Colby Heyrend: I think that he will hate his way of life because no one knows really what happened and they don't feel anything at all. He may then try to find another home that has a normal life but might not succeed, then he will come back to his own communittee and change them all.:)
i think that jonas will think that everybody should feel the same things that he should. Then the giver is gonna give him all the memories. jonas is gonna sneak into the releasing room or jump in the river and everyone will be normal! Look, its elvis @:D
Annie Wolfe A2 I think he should let all the people give the memories he has. I think that the people should know about whats beyond their world and learn to live a life like ours where you can pick what you do and who you marry and not have people telling you what to do. I think thats the real part of life is to pick what you want to do thats the fun part. I dont think its very fair for the people to have other people telling them what to do or whos in there family or anything like that. so i think he should give memories to everyone so they can feel pain and happyness to. thats what i hope he would do i mean thats what helps you grow and make you smart right?
Easton what up with ruining the ending?? nvm anyway I think he will get freaked out from a bad memory and run away or commit suicide if all goes bad./ If all goes good(Which it usually doesn't), he'll get all the memories and become the receiver! But thats too boring so something bad is bound to happen.
Emily M. I think that Jonas will be all depressed because of all his memories. He will probably be really lonely and not get married. I also think that he will get so lonely that he will run away.
Sarah Matheson I think that Jonas should leave, if he thinks the community is doing wrong, he definetely should leave. The releases are really sad, and no one that knows about the releases should stand for that. But I guess that they are really doing what they are taught. The giver and Jonas should talk to the community about what is happening, and decide a way that it can be changed
Jacob Ricahrds... um i think i like the idea of him running with gabe that was nice of him... now im not going to say it was the best idea but yes it was good enoughe for me... i thing the relases thing it just get me all angry inside yes yes yes. lol <(^_^)> pickle

Jonas leaves with Gabe and all the memories go back to the community. The Giver is going to help them deal with it. I don't like the ending all that much. They should tell what happens to Jonas & Gabe.

I think jonas won't be able to last as long as the other giver becuase he doesn't seem happy and there isn't enough room in the book for the rest of his life in summerisation. even for the next reciever.
Bryant C. Its just plain mean to kill innocent babies because there is two of them in the community same with old people when they're to old for the law.

kenzie B. I think that They are both going to end up giving the memories to everyone so not just one person has to have them but I aslo don't think that Jonus is going to be released! So somehow they will be transfered!
I think that Jonas should give the people the memories. Without them they seem really uneducated and they don't know anything besides go to school and take care of the kids. If he gives them the memories he will be making them smarter and they will be able to feel things like love that they haven't before.
Madison Beardall I think that Jonas will decide that he would rather run away and find someone he can share his memories with. Some one that will understand him and will listen without thinking he is crazy. When he leaves i think that it will cause riot and the utopia will no longer exist and they will all receive memories
I am sorry that this is late but I think that he will run away ( wink wink) and that the giver will be there to help the people to get through the memories....... :) smiley face
McKenna J. Well i think that Jonas should leave and then i also think that Jonas should take Gabriel with him if Gabriel likes Jonas as much as he does and then the Giver can finish his deal with the Community and then he can go to be with Jonas if he doesn't die.
I have already read the end of the book and it kind of leaves you hanging. i wish that the giver went with jonas. then they would look back laughing as the community fell apart and as everyone suffered.
I think that Jonas and the Giver will probably get caught and serious things will happen to them: but so far nothing bad has happened to Jonas or the Giver.
